Frankie was born on June 7, 1938, in rural Stewardson, IL, the son of Glen G. and Fern L. (Von Behren) Brandt. He began working for his father both on the farm and on the canned milk route. Frankie and his father picked up milk from area dairy farmers and trucked it to the Litchfield Dairy daily. They also had a return delivery route, trucking fresh milk and ice cream to area businesses and residences. Frankie later trucked for his father when Glen started Brandt Grain in Stewardson. His trucking career spanned over 50 years. He married Christine Marie Stremming on June 15, 1957. They owned and operated F. Brandt Grain and farmed in Stewardson for many years. Frankie had a love for horses that lasted his entire life. He and his wife Christine enjoyed raising and showing their Appaloosa horses and collecting authentic Indian clothing. In his youth, Frankie enjoyed playing on the Milnot fast-pitch softball team, which was sponsored by Glen Brandt. He and Christine attended New Hope Church in Effingham, IL.
Frankie is survived by his sons, Frenchie D. Brandt (Lori) of Stewardson, IL and Franklin D. Brandt (Marla) of Strasburg, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer Propst (Jason), Jesse Brandt (Rachel), Natasha Harris (Steffen) and Clayton Brandt (Kelly); great grandchildren, Matthew Propst, Hannah Propst, Tobin Brandt, Taytum Brandt, Liam Harris, Isabella Harris, Dominic Harris, Rylee Brandt and Weston Brandt; and sister, Frances Lee York of Strasburg, IL.
